Overview:
Cindy serves as the National Program Leader for Nutrition, Health and Wellness with an emphasis on nutrition and health extension and outreach. Efforts target determinants of health, which are a range of personal, social, economic, and environmental factors that influence health status, including such things as biology, genetics, individual behavior, access to health services, and the environment in which people are born, live, learn, play, work and age.
Located within the Division of Family and Consumer Sciences, she works with land-grant universities, federal agencies and other partners at the federal, state and local levels to identify mission-relevant problems and opportunities in nutrition, health and wellness. She directs and manages related programs to respond to these topic areas through science-based research, education and extension activities.
