Overview:
Gary provides leadership and coordination for research, education, and extension programs and activities involving aquaculture and partner land-grant institutions; serves as point of contact and expert resource to other federal agencies, state programs, and diverse stakeholders; leads facilitation of public policy-related issues through broad stakeholder participatory processes; and chairs the Joint Subcommittee on Aquaculture, an interagency working group under the Committee on Science of the National Science and Technology Council.
