NIFA's Office of Extramural Programs (OEP) provides leadership and management oversight for NIFA-supported financial assistance programs.

Awards Management Branch

• Develops, executes, and administers cooperative agreements and grant awards relative to NIFA-supported assistance programs.

Policy and Oversight Branch

Policy Staff (PS)

• Develops policies and procedures related to federal financial assistance, including directives, administrative manuals, administrative provisions, guidelines for application preparation and submission, and requests for applications.

Oversight Staff (OS)

• Performs administrative and financial reviews.
• Assumes responsibility for audit resolution.

Financial Operations Branch

Formula Funds Staff (FFS)

• Administers NIFA's formula-funds.

Funds Management Staff (FMS)

• Authorizes all payments to grantees and oversees financial reporting.
• Authorizes all new and future year payments to grantees and oversees financial reporting.
• Maintains the official accounting record.
