Kansas State University and NIFA Co-sponsor Meeting on Agricultural Security
A meeting on agricultural security, co-sponsored by Kansas State University and NIFA, was held on June 12–13, 2012, at the NIFA Waterfront Centre. The meeting focused on the future of the three national networks—the Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN), the National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN), and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN)—that are supported, in part, by the USDA-NIFA Food and Agriculture Defense Initiative (FADI). The primary purposes of the meeting were to identify and prioritize the research, education, and extension/outreach/service issues that are critical to each network; to focus on continuing enhancement of the networks; and to break ground on potential inter-network activities.
