National Stakeholder Workshop
NIFA and USDA's Agricultural Research
Service (ARS) developed an “Enhance
Animal Well-Being throughout the Food Production
Cycle” program for the USDA National
Stakeholder Workshop for Animal Agriculture
held in 2001 in Beltsville, MD.
The program examined issues relating to
animal management practices and cited animal
well-being research conducted by ARS, participants
in multistate research committees, and other
researchers funded by NIFA. Reports from
participants who attended the program were
given to ARS and NIFA leaders for research
program development.
