Department of Defense and USDA Partnership

The aim of this mission‐focused project is to cultivate collaborations with educational institutions, non‐governmental and community‐based organizations, and other groups and organizations with expertise in early childhood education, youth development or related fields to support the family support programs, workforce development, and child care & youth development expansion needs of the Department of Defense (DoD).  It is the intent, through this relationship between the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) at USDA and Military Community & Family Policy (MC&FP) at DoD that programs be mutually beneficial to support military youth, families, and communities as well as non‐military audiences.

Lead universities include Kansas State University, Ohio State University, Purdue University, University of Arizona, University of Nebraska, and Washington State University. Other land-grant institutions hold sub-awards.
