America Saves Week 2012
America Saves Week, being held this year from February 19th through the 26th, is being coordinated by America Saves and the America Savings Education Council. Started in 2007, the Week offers an annual opportunity for organizations to promote good-savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their own saving status. Typically, over 2,000 organizations participate in the Week's activities, reaching millions of people.
During America Saves Week, hundreds of organizations join together to encourage savings. Individuals are encouraged and assisted to assess their savings progress and take action to advance this progress.
Cooperative Extension has also been involved with America Saves Week. Last year, 29 state Extension partners participated by promoting the goals of this initiative and providing essential information to consumers across the country. The resources listed below are intended to assist Extension Educators to get involved and to provide information to help consumers assess their finances and adopt healthy financial habits.
