Federal/National Partnership for Transforming Child and Family Mental Health

NIFA is a member of the Federal/National Partnership (FNP) for Transforming Child and Family Mental Health & Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment. FNP expands and transforms children’s mental health and substance abuse systems in communities, territories, tribes, and states through active collaboration.

FNP has three task groups, including the Integrating Mental Health and Education Workgroup. The work group develops a coordinated federal process to support optimal integration of education and mental health services and supports.

As a member of the workgroup, NIFA helps promote National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day.  Celebrated the first Thursday each May, Mental Health Awareness Day invites communities across the country to promote the resilience and recovery of children and youth.
