Priester National Extension Health Conference Overview
The Priester National Extension Health Conference, named in honor of retired NIFA National Program Leader Jeanne M. Priester, invites professionals involved in health research, care, education, and policy from the Cooperative Extension System (CES), federal organizations and agencies, private nonprofit organizations and associations, school systems, land-grant institutions, and other institutions of higher education. NIFA/USDA is a conference co-sponsor.
The Priester Award honors Jeanne M. Priester and her accomplishments and contributions to the CES. She was a leader in advancing health education within CES during her tenure at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the award is to honor extension programs that are providing the leadership to expand their capacity to effectively implement health programs. The Priester Award recognizes sound and innovative health education programs at the county, state, and national levels.
2012 Priester Conference
The 2012 Priester National Health Conference will be held April 10-12, 2012 at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. The theme is "Leveraging Partnerships to Improve the Health of the Nation." The conference is co-sponsored by NIFA/USDA and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
