Enhancing Ecosystem Services from Agricultural Lands: Management, Quantification, and Developing Decision Support Tools
Enhancing Ecosystem Services from Agricultural Lands: Management, Quantification, and Developing Decision Support Tools is a joint competitive research grants program offered by NIFA in partnership with the Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Ecosystem services are the goods and services derived from natural and managed ecosystems upon which human welfare depends. Because of the global intensification of land use, these services are in decline, especially in agricultural ecosystems. Ecosystem services of interest will be related to climate change, water availability, reactive nitrogen, pests, weeds, invasive species, and soil and land degradation.
