National Learning Center
for Private Forest and Range Landowners
The National
Learning Center for Private Forest and
Range Landowners is a "virtual” natural
resource education center, providing interactive
online instruction for private forest
and range landowners and extension educators.
NIFA supports the center through the Renewable
Resources Extension Education Act program focus
funds. These funds are awarded to the institutions
that develop learning modules and to the
University of Tennessee which hosts the
center.
The center utilizes interactive technology
and resources to increase teaching capacity.
A portion of the center includes presentations,
continuing education courses, and certificate
programs these professionals can share at
meetings of landowner groups or other organizations.
Future plans include developing Web-based
learning, including both synchronous and
asynchronous online instructions.
An advisory
board oversees the center's plans and
activities.
