Distance Education and
Telemedicine Program
The Distance
Education and Telemedicine Program offers
grants and loans through the USDA's Rural
Utilities Service (RUS). Since the 1990s,
RUS has provided financial assistance to
small towns and rural areas in establishing
telecommunications infrastructure to bring
21st century distance educations
and telemedicine capacity to under-served
communities in rural areas.
