Access and Opportunity are critically important objectives of the 4-H Program. These objectives ensure all youths have the opportunity to participate in the 4-H program.
4-H engages youth with programs that address 21st century needs, including agriculture, STEM, and healthy living. 4-H programs offer millions of youths opportunities to develop career and life skills, participate in civic engagement, and grow as future leaders.
As the National 4-H Headquarters, NIFA is committed to expanding 4-H’s program reach and engagement to serve youth populations and communities. Towards this goal, the National 4-H Headquarters:
- Provides leadership in youth development among other federal agencies and private partners
- Canvasses stakeholders’ needs
- Provides resources to the Land-grant University System
- Shares the 4-H mission with all partners
National 4-H Headquarters collaborates within USDA and with other Federal partners, Land-grant Universities (LGUs), and community partners to provide 4-H opportunities to youths across the country.
