NIFA Awards $5M to Support Critical Agricultural Research and Extension (CARE)

USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture has awarded $5 million in funding to support 17 projects to address critical challenges and opportunities that research and Extension can address to improve our nation’s agricultural and food systems. The Agriculture and Food Research Initiative’s Critical Agricultural Research and Extension program area priority (CARE, A1701) supports integrated activities based on rigorous research combined with effective Extension and involvement of stakeholders to develop and rapidly apply new knowledge or practices resulting in improved well-being of the people, communities, plants, and animals involved in, and affected by, agriculture and food-production systems.
