The purpose of the Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP) is to advance the educational achievement of Americans and increase the diversity of the food and agricultural professional workforce. The MSP provides competitive grants to colleges and universities to conduct scholarship programs that attract students from underrepresented groups to pursue and complete baccalaureate degrees in food and agricultural disciplines and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degrees.
FY 2023 projects will support 10 D.V.M. students and 91 undergraduate scholars entering food and nutrition, forestry, natural resources, and interdisciplinary majors that offer upwards of 13 areas of concentration.
