Cierra Campbell

Acting Executive Secretary to the Director

Cierra Campbell is Acting Executive Secretary to the Director. She is a Social Science Program Specialist in the Division of Community and Education within the Institute of Youth, Family, and Community. Her primary programs include:  1890 Land-Grant Institutions Programs, the Higher Education Challenge Grant Program, and the Research Facilities Act Program.

Prior to joining NIFA, Cierra managed a portfolio of federally funded health centers (FQHCs) that establish and provide quality healthcare in underserved communities. She also has experience as a Cartographer at the U.S Forest Service and a Big Tech company in Silicon Valley. Most recently, she served as Director of Programs at a non-profit agency where she oversaw and helped develop life changing youth and community-serving programs in East St. Louis, IL.

Cierra has a M.Sc. in Geographic Information Science from Florida State University, a B.A. in Geography, a B.A. in Anthropology, and Certification in Agroecology from Florida International University. As an undergraduate, she was supported through NIFA’s Multicultural Scholars Program

She brings her interdisciplinary expertise and service-oriented nature to support USDA NIFA’s mission.
