Gabrielle Risley, MPH, RDN is a Data Analyst in the Planning, Accountability and Reporting Staff Office, under the Office of the Director, at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USDA (NIFA). Gabrielle serves as NIFA’s Institute of Food Safety and Nutrition Data Liaison, retrieving and delivering scientific, programmatic and financial information from agency information systems. She develops analytical approaches for assessing program and portfolio impacts over multi-year periods of investment. Gabrielle works with program staff on several programs, including Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP) and Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP).
Before joining NIFA, Gabrielle served as the Nutrition and Health Promotion Program Manager at the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Service, where she provided program leadership to the Kansas Senior Nutrition Program, funded by the Older Americans Act through the Administration for Community Living. This program aims to reduce hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition among older Kansans, as well as promote socialization, health and well-being through nutrition and other disease prevention and health promotion services. Previously, Gabrielle served as State Breastfeeding Coordinator for the Kansas WIC program.
Gabrielle received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Kansas State University. She earned her Master of Public Health in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. She completed her coordinated master’s program to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
