Tammi started with NIFA in October 2021 as a Program Specialist for the USDA Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs. She serves to facilitate the program, which administers Phase I and Phase II grants, as well as serving on the Conservation of Natural Resources SBIR/STTR Topic Area team. As a Program Specialist, Tammi provides customer support during the pre-application, panel review, and post-award phases of the grants process.
She holds B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Animal and Range Sciences from NDSU. Tammi pursued her M.S. degree after she saw that the research she conducted as an Undergraduate Student could benefit livestock producers. Within the SBIR/STTR programs, she can combine her passion for supporting the agricultural industry with impacts to rural communities, small and mid-size farms, and animal agriculture.
