Dr. Emmanuel Byamukama is a National Program Leader in the Institute of Food Production and Sustainability, Division of Plant Systems-Protection. Dr Byamukama currently co-leads the Emergence Citrus Disease Research and Extension program and the Extension Implementation program. Prior to joining USDA-NIFA, Dr. Byamukama was an Associate Professor/Plant Pathology Extension Specialist at South Dakota State University, where he led research and extension efforts addressing plant disease management. He has vast experience in applied field research, addressing practical plant disease management solutions for field crops mainly wheat, soybean, and corn.
Dr. Byamukama received his PhD in plant pathology from Iowa State University, a MS in Crop Science from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda and BS in Agriculture from the same university.
