On August 11, 2016, Director Dr. Sonny Ramaswamy discussed in a Food Tank Webinar NIFA’s mission and priorities, provided a brief overview of the purpose and establishment our nation’s land-grant universities and the agricultural “Extension” system, and highlighted the transformative “user-inspired research” discoveries being made by NIFA-funded researchers across the country and how these discoveries are leading to solutions to address our nation’s most pressing societal challenges.
