Building Capacity at Home and Abroad

Solutions developed by NIFA-funded researchers and land-grant universities in the United States could benefit other parts of the world. Many domestic advances in the agricultural sector also rely upon international collaboration.

NIFA’s Center for International Programs (CIP) helps bridge the gap between domestic and international capacity building efforts.

Recognizing the daunting challenge of meeting the world’s future food security needs and the mutual benefits derived from international cooperation in agriculture, NIFA’s Center for International Programs (CIP) strives to advance the global engagement of the agency and our partnering universities. CIP leads efforts to forge new international partnerships, further internationalize NIFA’s competitive grant programs, and harness the tremendous resources of our research, education and extension community to address societal issues that transcend borders.
