To support NIFA in enhancing the effectiveness of its stakeholders through global engagement, NIFA's Center for International Programs (CIP): (1) establishes and assists in partnerships with other federal agencies working internationally; (2) provides guidance within NIFA on including global engagement opportunities for U.S. institutions in NIFA's grant programs.
CIP establishes linkages between NIFA and other organizations, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, and the World Bank to globally advance the results and experience of NIFA and the institutions it serves. These connections also keep NIFA informed of emerging agricultural issues that may concern the United States. In addition, CIP brings awareness to international issues through briefings and webinars.
