It is a great pleasure to present the 2017 Annual Report of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA): User Inspired Science Transforming Lives. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue articulated a vision that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is one family working together to serve the American people. NIFA will help achieve that vision by investing needed intellectual and monetary resources in alignment with USDA’s seven strategic goals to ensure agricultural and rural prosperity.
