USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture is committed to supporting women scientists who conduct advanced agricultural and natural resources research for the public good that improves the lives of all Americans.
Education
USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture believes educating the next generation of women scientists is critical to ensuring this nation has a highly skilled workforce prepared to solve the most critical agricultural and environmental issues facing our planet.
Through the Women and Minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fields Grant Program, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture supports robust and diverse food and agricultural STEM workforce that is highly competent in the application of STEM knowledge and skills, with increased participation of women.
Extension
Through its support for Extension, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture empowers rural women leaders to address the changing needs of their communities and families.
Through its support for Extension, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture provides resources, education, and networking opportunities to help women farmers and ranchers across the nation meet their business and quality of life goals.
Through its support for Extension, USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture connects women forest landowners, managers and stewards with the resources, skills and community they need to make informed decisions that promote healthy forest resources.
