Office of Grants and Financial Management

The Office of Grants and Financial Management (OGFM) supports NIFA’s mission by administering grants, cooperative agreements, and other federal financial assistance. The work is then coordinated amongst three divisions: Policy and Oversight, Awards Management, and Financial Management, who all provides service over the entire lifecycle of these awards.

The office establishes policies in accordance with federal guidelines, obligates funding, and provides oversight to ensure compliance with regulations, and policies. OGFM provides technical assistance to applicants, grantees, and stakeholders.


  • Write and administer agency policies in compliance with guidelines established by the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Obligate funds in the grant management and financial accounting system
  • Conducts Pre-Award and Post Award actions for grants, cooperative agreements, loans, reimbursable, and endowments.
