Division of Plant Systems-Protection

GOALS

The division’s efforts help maintain healthy crops and ecosystems and assist producers in adjusting to restrictions in chemical pesticide use. The division responds to critical pest issues and supports ongoing efforts by the agricultural community to identify priorities for future work.

• Provide oversight and coordination for Regional Integrated Pest Management centers
• Support evaluation of pest management materials and methods
• Promote fundamental research into common weeds, pests, and diseases
• Reduce crop losses through investigation of strategies to improve food security
