Community Conversations in Support of President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot

USDA is supporting the ambitious goal to end cancer as we know it…and we need everyone to get involved…we need YOU! Join us for USDA’s Day of Action to learn the latest science on food and nutrition, and healthy eating habits you can use to reduce the risk of cancer and chronic disease. This series of conversations is designed to support you, your family, friends, and your community to live more healthful lives. Knowledge is power, action is key, and community support is monumental!

Save the date for August 10, 2022!  We will host two public sessions with leading scientists, innovative program specialists and community leaders who will discuss and share practical information and resources to help you take steps toward healthy eating habits. Additionally, we will host a USDA employee-only conversation to discuss personal health journeys and lifestyle changes among colleagues and family. 

  • Virtual Roundtable on Cutting-edge Nutrition Research and Science (10:00 – 11:30 a.m. EDT):
    • Purpose: Showcase the latest best agriculture and nutrition science for preventing cancer and leading a healthy life free from chronic disease.
  • Virtual Roundtable on Integrating Best Practices and Engaging with USDA Programs (2:00 – 3:30 p.m. EDT): 
    • Purpose: Showcase USDA and partner programs and best practices that increase community adoption of healthy eating and lifestyles, both of which have been shown to prevent cancer.

Stories inspire change. We will share several stories during the sessions. Are you a cancer survivor or do you know a cancer survivor? Have you significantly changed your habits due to cancer risk, diagnosis, or other chronic disease? Please consider sharing your story with us and we may share it publicly on the USDA Day of Action. Your story can inspire change in others. Please send your stories to by August 5, 2022, 5:00 p.m. EDT.

To attend this event, please register in advance. You will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Closed captioning and American Sign Language interpretation will be available.
