Ensuring Accountability for Liability Findings Against the USDA

USDA takes complaints of discrimination very seriously. As a testament to this, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration has established an Equal Opportunity Accountability Unit. This is the direct result of Secretary Vilsack’s commitment to a zero tolerance for discrimination policy in response to the information personnel shared at the listening sessions.

2014 Impacts Report

As a leader in food and agricultural sciences, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) seeks innovative solutions to issues related to agriculture, food, the environment, and communities. By supporting research, education, and Cooperative Extension programs at land-grant universities and other partner organizations, NIFA moves science from labs to farms and classrooms, to the dining table, and back again.

REE Action Plan

The REE Action Plan is designed to guide and help coordinate research activity across the Department and inform other agricultural research entities. It provides further delineation of USDA’s research priorities and remains the roadmap for promoting innovations related to agricultural science and education. The Action Plan describes the seven goals that reflect the full scope and variety of REE activities.

Engaging and Strengthening SNAP-Ed & EFNEP Partnerships

These two documents are appropriate for use by both SNAP-Ed and EFNEP coordinators. They were created by the SNAP-Ed Program Development Team to assist in increasing communication and building lasting relationships. The documents are each one page and provide guidance for new and existing personnel.

EFNEP Evaluation - Adult Program

EFNEP collects demographic data on all adults who participate in the program. In addition, food and physical activity questionnaires and 24-hour dietary recalls are administered at entry and at exit to measure improvement in behavior.

EFNEP Evaluation - Youth Program

EFNEP collects demographic data on all youth groups who participate in the program. In addition, questionnaires are administered at entry and at exit to measure improvement in knowledge and skill development for children and to measure improvement in behavior for youth.
