Dr. Koo received his B.S. at the Incheon National University in S. Korea. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from Mississippi State University.
He worked for Grocery Manufacturers Association as a visiting scientist focusing on quality and safety issues in juice products and worked for Virginia Tech as a research associate in quality and safety of seafood. He was assistant and associate professor at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in food science and food safety; conducted research in improving quality and safety of fruits and vegetables; and provided training and education for farmers and food processors. He was director of food safety at Institute of Food Technologists, where he organized and developed food safety content for various projects. Most recently, he served as a senior regulatory specialist at Registrar Corp, where he assisted domestic and foreign clients in complying with FDA regulatory requirements.
