
Summer LaRose is a Program Specialist in the Institute of Food Production and Sustainability, Division of Plant Production. As a Program Specialist, she facilitates the peer review process of grant applications and manages the post-award process.
Prior to joining NIFA, Summer was a wildlife scientist specializing in mammalian ecology and behavior. Her graduate research focused on the rare plains spotted skunk and she also contributed to agroforestry and sustainable agriculture systems research at the University of Missouri. Additionally, Summer directed the Deaton Scholars Program, an innovative program that builds student capacity to collaboratively tackle hunger, poverty, and other global challenges.
Summer earned an M.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Missouri and she studied Wildlife Biology and International Studies at North Carolina State University.
