In collaboration with the Land-Grant University System, Cooperative Extension Service, federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations, Dr. Sallee serves as national program leader to 4-H positive youth development programs (DY4-H). Dr. Jeff Sallee grew up in Oklahoma attending a rural k-12 school. Joining 4-H in the 4th grade started him on a life long career and adventure. After growing up in 4-H, Jeff received his bachelors’ degree from Oklahoma State University in Agricultural Economics and soon after began working as a county extension agent for seven years implementing 4-H and agricultural educational programs. He served as the state volunteer specialist in for the University of Arkansas 4-H program, followed by three years as the camping program coordinator for the University of Georgia 4-H. During these years, Jeff earned his masters degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University. In 2001, Jeff returned to Oklahoma State University. Dr. Sallee ultimately served as the Farm Bureau professor and 4-H Extension Specialist for the Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development program. For the 19 years, Dr. Sallee specialized in STEM youth programming at Oklahoma State University. Completing his Ph.D. and continuing to work as a 4-H specialist, he advanced to the rank of full professor, garnered over 2.8 million dollars in grant funding, published 15 articles in extension relevant journals, and presented numerous professional development programs at state and national 4-H related meetings.
