eOrganic Established as a Community of Practice Within eXtension

The project team, “eOrganic: eXtension for Organic Agriculture,” includes nine land-grant scientists, directed by Alexandra Stone of Oregon State University. eXtension is a relatively new initiative, providing online resources developed jointly by researchers, educators, and extension workers from land-grant institutions across the United States. Within eXtension, professionals with expertise in a specific topic or subject matter area can join together to form a Community of Practice (COP).  COPs are typically multi-institutional, multi-state, and multi-disciplinary and work to deliver the "best of the best" educational resources to the public. Material is research-based and has been reviewed by a number of experts to ensure accuracy and lack of bias. eOrganic is a new COP serving the needs of those interested in organic agriculture. In addition to information on general topics important to organic agriculture such as certification, eOrganic provides a wealth of information on organic dairy and organic vegetable farming systems.
