Live Listening Session: Bioproduct Pilot Program
USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) invited the public to participate in an April 28 virtual listening session for the new Bioproduct Pilot Program, which seeks to study the benefits of using materials derived from covered agricultural commodities in construction and consumer products.
This new program, which is authorized under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, directs USDA to partner with no less than one qualified institution to support the scale-up of sustainable bioproduct manufacturing, with the goal of providing a low-cost alternative to conventional products. Input received from this listening session, in addition to comments received via email at REE-NIFA-BioproductPilotProgram@usda.gov, will help shape the content for the program’s Request for Applications.
