Join NIFA staff May 15, at 11:00 am EDT for an RFA technical assistance Q&A session about the Potato Breeding Research program. A pre-recorded video is available to applicants on the funding opportunity listing; applicants are highly encouraged to watch the pre-recorded video prior to this RFA technical assistance live Q&A webinar. During this RFA technical assistance live Q&A webinar, NIFA staff will briefly highlight the program and then will spend the remainder of time answering participants’ questions.

The purpose of this grant program is to support potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) research programs that focus on varietal development and testing and potato varieties for commercial production. As used herein, varietal development and testing is research using conventional breeding and/or biotechnological genetics to develop improved potato varieties. Aspects of evaluation, screening and testing must support variety development.
