On Tuesday, August 23, from 5 to 6 p.m. EDT, youths will share their perspectives on tackling food and nutrition insecurity with an emphasis on the role of 4-H, which empowers nearly 6 million young people with the skills to lead for a lifetime. The webinar panelists participated in the 2022 National 4-H Conference (N4HC) this past March, which is the premier youth development opportunity of the USDA. During this conference, each of these team members volunteered to participate in a roundtable focused on providing feedback on the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s Nutrition Security efforts. Now known as the N4HC Nutrition Security Roundtable Team, these youths will use this NIFA Nutrition Security Webinar edition to share their insightful thoughts with a wider audience outside of the N4HC attendees. During the webinar discussion time, NIFA staff will share how they are working to integrate this team’s recommendations in their work ahead. Webinar attendees are welcomed to ask questions and provide feedback as NIFA and 4-H work to accelerate progress on tackling food and nutrition insecurity and fostering meaningful opportunities for youth engagement in our efforts.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with details on how to join the live session. If you have any questions or comments, please email LaRachelle Samuel-Smith at LaRachelle.Samuel-Smith@usda.gov.
